  • Alaskan Women Network - "to further the empowerment of Alaska women through sharing of information, education and support and through encouraging the development of skills which will enable women to assume leadership roles in building a better world. The AWN, working with women from all communities throughout Alaska, shall encourage participation from urban and rural women and from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds"
  • Femina Borealis - Women and development in the North - "This network is an action, education and research project that involves activists from five countries: Finland, Sweden, Norway, Russia and the Sami Region. The objective is to provide a forum and to bring women together in discussions aiming at a more 'woman-friendly' regional policy within the North Calotte and the Barents Sea region; to develop various study programmes and courses; and to support research efforts"
  • Circumpolar Women's Conference - Whitehorse, Yukon (Canada), 18-20 November 1999 - this site also offers the Northern Women WebCenter which provides access to excellent resources on women in the circumpolar region
  • Institute for the Advancement of Aboriginal Women - the objectives of IAAW are:
    • "to change the negative attitudes that pervade the Canadian society regarding Aboriginal Women
    • to promote Aboriginal Women and their particular field of expertise and ability
    • to address issues of concern at the provincial, federal and international levels and as they impact women in communities
    • advocate for the participation of Indigenous peoples and the inclusion of women in any forums dealing with Indigenous Human Rights
    • to work in cooperation with other supportive organizations to achieve our objectives
    • to be actively involved in the areas of human rights and dignity of individual Aboriginal women and Aboriginal Women as people"

  • Pauktuutit Inuit Women's Association - "the national non-profit association representing all Inuit women in Canada. Its mandate is to foster a greater awareness of the needs of Inuit women, and to encourage their participation in community, regional and national concerns in relation to social, cultural and economic development"
